Jim Fannin Show: A True Champion Builds a Culture of Success - 2017-10-12

For the University of Illinois Men’s Golf Team, the 2017 season was supposed to be what sports journalists often call a “rebuilding year.” Instead, head coach Mike Small took his team to the NCAA Championship for the 10th straight season and was honored as the Big Ten Coach of the Year.

In the golf world, schools in northern states, such as Illinois, tend to lag behind their southern competitors due to the difficulty of recruiting to a place where part of the season can be afflicted with bitter cold and wind. Not only has Coach Small built a world-class program with a top-notch facility, but he also stocks the program with young talent year after year. For the past 10 years, one or more of his charges has become a professional golfer and two team members have won the NCAA individual championship.

In this episode, Mike shares how using Jim Fannin’s S.C.O.R.E.® System helps the U of I men’s golf team “peak” at the right time and place during a grueling season that includes both fall and spring play. Even more importantly, he guides his young athletes to be true champions in every arena in life.

Coach Small also shares the secret on how coaching makes him a better pro golfer. This summer, Mike tied for 20th at the American Family Insurance Tournament on the PGA Champions Tour.

Plus, Jim taps into his experience coaching of top professional golfers. He breaks down the mental side of the game between athletes that make a mistake and quickly recover, and those who fall apart in the wake of an error. And Jim and Seth discuss why many teams struggle to find the Zone after a championship year.

Of course, Jim and Seth check out “Who’s in the Zone” this week, answer the Ask Jim Mailbag, and finally Jim guides you through the Zone Café.

Have a question for Jim? Email askjim@jimfannin.com to get answers to your toughest questions for succeeding in life, business and sports!

Jim Fannin Show: A True Champion Brings Teams Into The Zone - 2017-09-28

Jeff Krushell is our special guest this episode and he’s much more than the host of Krush Performance, an extremely popular Canadian radio show and podcast on the Radio Influence network. He has helped countless players and teams get into the Zone, ranging from current pro baseball and hockey players, to helping the MLB with efforts to expand the popularity of baseball in Africa. He is an expert at making those around him better.

In this episode, you’ll learn how Jeff teaches visualization to aspiring MLB players in Africa to step up their game to break down larger goals into actionable items. Jim and Jeff also dissect the devastating effect of building pressure on young athletes, which causes many adolescents to leave sports behind because playing “isn’t fun anymore.”

Ultimately, this episode of the Jim Fannin Show is about helping the youth in our lives find the Zone. Experience in youth sports enables kids to grow up to be world-class decision makers and true champions in every arena of life.

Plus, Jim and Seth take a look at the “S.C.O.R.E.® Breakers” that threaten to take you out of the Zone to derail your success, and why scheduling regular time to “go to 30,000 feet” and look at your life and goals is an integral part of the S.C.O.R.E.® System.

And as always, Jim and Seth reach into the Ask Jim mail bag to tackle your questions on succeeding in life, business, and sports. Have a question for Jim? Email askjim@jimfannin.com to get answers to your toughest questions!

Jim Fannin Show: A True Champion Wins 90 Seconds At A Time - 2017-09-14

As a 14-year old, Jim Fannin made more money than both his parents brought home from four combined jobs in economically depressed Appalachia. This happened because he discovered the key to making a sale within the first 90 seconds of a conversation in door-to-door sales, and would actually sprint from house to house to increase his earnings.

As a coach on the pro tennis tour, Jim helped his athletes win key matches by utilizing the 90 seconds during break periods when players change sides of the court.

The 90-Second Rule™ can be used to maximize your potential and results to:

  • Beat insomnia and get a great night of sleep
  • Reconnect with your spouse or partner after a long,
    strenuous day
  • Help your children maximize their potential in academics, sports, etc
  • Avoid common pitfalls in business that cost time,
    energy, and profits
  • Achieve elusive health and fitness goals

Plus, Jim breaks down how Rafael Nadal controlled his breathing to win the US Open, the Oklahoma-Ohio State upset, the Cleveland Indians red-hot win streak, and how a billionaire used a “reward system” to go from flat broke to incredible business success.

And as always, we’ll get into the askjim@jimfannin.com mailbag, where Jim coaches a retail owner who fears the “Amazon takeover” and helps a triathlete get into the Zone in each leg of their sport.

Finally, Jim takes us inside the Zone Café as we embark on our next Zone week.

Jim Fannin Show: A True Champion Enjoys Work Life Balance - 2017-09-07

For many, it looks like Rob Wilson was just born smart, talented and lucky. Rob is the President of Employco USA, a Human Resource company located in Westmont, Illinois. In two years he doubled the size of his company, dramatically improved his golf game, spent more time with his family, and maintained the self-discipline to never walk into his house after work while still on a business call.

Rob is smart and talented….BUT….his success is NOT luck. Rob is locked in the Zone.

On this episode, Rob shares his story of coincidentally meeting Jim Fannin on a golf course in a torrential rainstorm when he was at a mental crossroad of balancing his work, family and overall life. It was this life-changing encounter that resulted in Jim training Rob to attract the Zone in all facets of his life. The results were immediate. His business produced more gross income and net profits while he enjoyed more quality family time and a lower golf handicap with his same old swing.

Rob helps small to medium-size businesses in 49 states with all their HR needs. He unpacks some of the most complicated HR situations facing the business world today. This includes liability around the ever increasing medical marijuana climate in America, transgender employees whose identity no longer matches their drivers license, and how skipping simple HR training can lead to casual mistakes that cost companies millions in lawsuits.

Plus, Rob walks us through how to retain more rock star employees and keep them from working for the competition by building a winning culture of camaraderie and teamwork.

Jim Fannin Show: A True Champion Finds The Zone Of Enjoyment - 2017-08-31

If you’re seeking to be entertained and educated while you become your genuine, authentic best self, The Jim Fannin Show is the Internet’s most positive podcast. It’s your weekly, go-to place to swiftly simplify and balance your career, wellness, sport, family, personal finance, and relationships.

Each week, Jim will focus the show on the peak performance mindset called the Zone. With his vast experience working with the best of the best, Jim will deliver the goods on who’s currently In the Zone, who’s NOT and how you can find your own Zone pathway to success.

On this episode, Jim guides you through the essential practices to enter the Zone of Enjoyment, which is key to peak performance in sports, business and relationships.

  • Jim knows the best in the world “love what they do and do what they love.” He addresses this mindset and showcases the science behind it.
  • Find out how to activate the natural body chemicals that trigger a champion’s enjoyment and satisfaction while he or she performs at work or play. Now you’ll know why even the best pro athletes sometimes get worse, not better, when they become angry and engage in highly negative self talk.
  • Learn tools and techniques to swiftly bolster enjoyment.
  • Jim talks about how one of his world’s top 10 tennis clients reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon by laughing. This is hilarious!
  • Learn why Jim had a 6’5”, 320lb NFL offensive lineman “skip” in a meadow outside his training facility. Yes…Jim had him “skip” like a five-year old and it resulted in a touchdown the next game.
  • We’re also joined by one of the former “Southside Hitmen” members Eric Soderholm of the Chicago White Sox. He talks about how he recovered from a career ending injury to finding the Zone of enjoyment through building a wellness and healing center.
  • Our very special guest is Jim’s daughter Colby Sanford, who shares the two essential “enjoyment” rules growing up in the Fannin household. At age 13, Colby had to have Rule #3 installed and altogether these were the only rules Colby had growing up.

Plus, we’ll get into the mailbag where Jim coaches a burned out business traveler and guides a dedicated, discouraged JV soccer player feeling down about an upcoming season with multiple challenges.

Finally, Jim takes us inside The Zone Café as we embark on our next Zone week.

Jim Fannin Show: Concentrate Like A Champion - 2017-08-10

This week’s Jim Fannin Show is all about CONCENTRATION. In 2015, a study by Microsoft famously declared that the average person’s attention span had dropped below that of a goldfish. In 2017, we are still being challenged to pay attention, hold our focus, lock-in at the right time and place, while being bombarded by more external information than anytime in human history.

So how has ZoneCoach® Jim Fannin guided the best pro athletes, executives and entertainers in the world to block out the unimportant stuff in order to sink a “moment of truth” putt, land a prestigious movie role or post record quarterly profits?

Rather than feeling guilty about a lack of focus, the answer lies in brain science. Don’t just tell yourself you’re going to master focus, let Jim teach you how to master the Zone of concentration.

In this Jim Fannin Show episode, you will learn:

  • How the best in the world leverage concentration to set personal and world records
  • How A-List actor Matthew McConaughey stays in the Zone by avoiding cynicism and being a perpetual student of his craft
  • What the world’s best golfers need to do to block out the positive AND negative voices in the media to win at the PGA Championship this weekend
  • The crucial role hydration plays in concentration
  • How to maximize your concentration at work by splitting your day into four quarters
  • Why cutting sleep and over-scheduling your day results in lower, not higher, productivity
  • The “Re-Boot” tool to prolong concentration and get it back swiftly once it’s broken
  • The “Framing” tool to maximize results and avoid frustration, impatience, anger, and burnout when playing with your children

Check out next week’s show when Jim discusses OPTIMISM. Our special guest is Grant Warwick, one of the world’s best CGI artists. Grant joins Jim from his studio in Sydney, Australia to talk about his amazing career and how renewed optimism was a major game-changer.

Jim Fannin Show: A True Champion Uses Visualization - 2017-08-03

On episode 4 of the Jim Fannin Show, America’s ZoneCoach® shares the secrets of success that have fueled pro athletes in 10 sports, executives from 50 industries and even an Acadamy Award winning director.

The big topic of discussion for this week’s show is visualization. The old cliché of “If you can see it, you can be it” may sound a bit corny but there’s so much truth to it.

Jim and Seth discuss how your brain works and how it’s constantly thinking in pictures, how visualization helped Jim during his pro tennis career, why Jim has used hypnopedia (or sleep-learning) with athletes he’s worked with, the importance of repetition, how the subconscious mind tends to rule the ranch, and the relationship between visualization and brain waves.

Jim also tells you who’s in the zone and who isn’t, the weekly “Ask Jim” feature, and the guys wrap up taking your orders from “The Zone Café!”
